Our philosophy is simple, minimal shoes offer you less process and materials meaning you benefit from maximum connection between your feet and the ground. Less process equals less impact on the environment too.

CORN
Plant-based bio TPU made from yellow dent field corn. In the same way you make beer, a fermentation process converts glycose derived from corn starch into this magic ingredient we turn into stretchy soft uppers and super tough soles.
NATURAL RUBBER
Sustainably tapped straight out of the rubber tree in Vietnam, we mix this natural, strong and extra grippy rubber into our soles.
ALGAE FOAM
Harvested algae not only cleans and restores the environment when harvested, it’s a great ingredient for super lightweight foam insoles and natural rubber outsoles that performs well in the great outdoors.
CARBON EMMISIONS
We all know that we need to drastically cut our carbon emissions if we are to live for many generations to come on a healthier happier planet, the Bio shoe uses over 30% innovative and renewable plant based technology, instead of purely petrochemical based synthetics and is our first step in developing a fully bio-based shoe.
Our goal is Earth Positive shoes – good for you, and for the planet, this shoe is not perfect, it still contains non-plant-based materials, but it is a step in the right direction, and better to innovate for good, than to stand still.
IN 2020 WE BECAME A B-CORPS WITH A SCORE OF 98.8. WE ARE ON A JOURNEY TO IMPROVE THIS EVERY YEAR.

Made from plants for minimal impact on your biomechanics and the planet. The Vivobarefoot Primus Lite II Bio is minimal, thin, wide and flexible to allow your feet to move naturally.
Our ultra-thin protective sole will give you maximum sensory feedback from the 200,000 nerve endings in your feet.
WIDE
Wide shoes allow your toes (crucially, your big toes) to provide a stable base of support.
Tapered narrow shoes give you shoe-shaped feet reducing stability and restricting the natural splay and recoil of toes weakening the muscles and function.
THIN
Thin puncture-resistant soles allow the 200,000 nerves in each foot to provide your brain with the sensory feedback you need to move with skill.
Thick cushioned soles recued sensory feedback to your brain and don’t allow your feet to feel the ground. Resulting in clumsy unskilful movement.
FLEXIBLE
A flexible, wide foot-shaped shoe allow your muscles and tendons to load, splay and recoil putting a natural spring in your step.
Supportive and/or rigid shoes cramp your feet and restrict the natural range of movement weakening the muscles and fascia.
