    • Fav for Running So Far

      Review by Jon | 6th November 2011

I got hooked on minimalist running by using Vibrams Five Fingers. I strayed from VFFs since I don't like separating the toes: separating the toes added nothing to the minimal feel and my feet were very cold running in snow (I'm in MA).

So I found these Neos through a blogger and decided to give them a try. I love the fit and never had a problem with blisters. In the winter, my feet are warm, and in the summer my feet are not hot. Also, I get decent ground feel without feeling every pebble.

Two downsides that I've noticed. The first is that the upper is separating from the lower at the toe on one of the shoes; I've tried glueing them together, and that helps, but there's still the separation. The second issue is that the soles are showing noticeable wear; for an expensive set of footwear, I didn't expect to see the wear this early.

Would I buy them again? Probably. They beat VFFs hands-down, and as (so far) the best minimalist running shoe I've found.

      Review by David | 20th October 2011

Cool looking shoe, I get comments about them every time I wear them. The only complaint I have is that the sole is not durable. I have only had them for about 9 months and already the sole under the ball of my foot on each shoe is almost completely worn through, and all I do in them is walk on pavement. The shoes I have with vibram soles show nowhere near the level of wear as these, and I use them for rocky trail running. Given how expensive these shoes are, they really shouldn't wear out so fast.
