- Necessary InsulationThere are two things that I thoroughly enjoy: 1) Minimalist footwear and 2) cold weather. Granted that I don't live in a climate that is conducive to using Vivobarefoot's Thermal Insoles on a regular basis, what I have found is that when I have the opportunity to visit Snow Country, U.S.A., they offer the right amount of insulation for me to be able to use my shoes in cold weather conditions. Oh...and warm socks! :)

- Warm Insole, But Durable?I bought these for my wife and myself for use in boots and Camper Peus (with insoles removed, they're minimalist!) during colder months. They really work well! They're not warm, per se, but they keep the cold out and allow your feet to warm up on their own.
My one complaint might be that they're starting to wear a bit already after less than a month's use. I don't know that that's worth deducting a star though.
Side benefits are a tiny bit of added padding while still maintaining a minimalist feel, and making slightly-too-large minimalist shoes a little less sloppy in fit.
These effectively turn any shoe into a warm winter shoe! Will buy again!Posted on
- Used in Men's GobiI have an old pair of Gobis that needed a replacement insole. I opted for the insulated footbed. They fit into the Gobi without trimming, and do provide a noticeable improvement in insulation when walking or standing on cold surfaces. I have been wearing them for about ten days, and so far cannot fault them. The sizing questions are a little silly: it is pretty subjective for me to say how wide or large they run. I would say they are the same as the Gobi or Ra last.

- Incredibly WarmI'm using theses in my Vivo's on a Paris trip in December, and they are performing very well. Just the right amount of cushion, and my feet are warm but not hot. You will love them.

- Very useful for winter monthsI bought this insole simply because I did not want to pay shipping when purchasing a vivobarefoot shoe for my son. With this sole, the price came up to be above $100 and my order qualified for free shipping.
The sole itself is actually and surprisingly great. With my RA II's, I have been getting cold lately; these soles solved that issue quickly. Obviously, they make the fit tighter, but for those cold days, these insoles are well worth their price. They take a couple of days to get used to.Posted on

- Refreshes my vivosI just put these in my 2-year-old vegan Ra II shoes to add a little winter warmth (I wish those would come back for sale!). They really do make a big difference to the temperature when walking on cold concrete without making the shoe feel bulkier or less flexible underfoot. An excellent way to refresh my favorite shoes.

- Worth itI bought a pair of these to put in my Desert Scott boots. Since they weren't necessarily made for winter, I wanted to try these to see if they would help keep my feet warmer than the stock insole in the Scott. Needless to say, they have been fantastic so far. They fit perfectly in both my Scott and Primus shoes. My feet are nice and cozy anytime I have them in, even when the temperature is dipping below freezing. They have performed so well I'm considering buying another pair just as a back up. Well done Vivo.

- Great insolesJust got a replacement pair of thermal insoles. They came worth my otillo’s before and after a year or so they wore out. They keep your feet really warm during colder weather, especially when you’re walking on snow. Would definitely recommend this product!

- Very Warm But Don't Fit All Vivo ShoesThese insoles are super warm and do a great job of keeping my feet comfortable when it gets cold. But while they fit my Primus Trek shoes perfectly, they don't fit into my Soul of Africa Ababa shoes.

- Works wellWore these in my gobi II swimruns all last year. I was able to keep wearing the shoes through my winter commute as long as it wasn't too wet. They did wear out and start to break down after about 6 months of use.

- Great InsolesI goofed! I mistakenly ordered the wrong size thermal insoles but they were the perfect fit for my bride of many years. She is sitting next to me right now with a smile on her face and she has no idea that I'm writing this review. So I just asked her about the insoles. She said they are just perfect! - Great for WinterI bought these to replace the insole in my RAII shoe. If you are a barefoot lover these will definitely add a little cushion to your step. It is not like wearing a regular shoe, but do not expect to have the same sensory input you would have without them. That being said, they definitely keep your feet warm and do their job. If you live in a cold climate, or just want a little less foot to ground contact (if you're walking on concrete all day), these will be perfect.

- Great cushion but...Well the cushioning is perfect. I love how it adds that separation from the ground, specially how necessary it is in the hot Arizona days. However, I got the same size as the shoes and it did not fit. Also, they kept sliding back making it feel weird in the toe box. I cut a little bit in the heel part and that did not helped. I got those because the ones that the shoes came with did the same thing and was hoping new ones would fix the issue but it didn’t.

- Best InsolesThese insoles are the best. If you are looking for a little more cushion or if you are having any troubles with the soles in your vivos losing their bonding a bit these soles are a great option. I like them much better then the performance insoles. These are nice and soft on your bare feet as well.

- Perfect accessoryI got these insoles to help “break in” my new Hiker SG. Not wanting to run all around town in special, heavy socks, I decided to invest in these. I’ve found that the insoles take up just enough little space that i can wear a “regular” sock more or less comfortably and still put some miles on the Hikers before i get out into the wilderness with them.

- SatisfactoryI bought the Vivobarefoot trail shoes and the thermal insoles. It took about 4 runs to get the hang of them ( I been using Newtons for years) but I must say I a completely satisfied with these shoes. They are very light and have great traction. A bit pricey especially for a recyclable shoe, but what isn't inflated now a days.

- Fits wellSeems well built and fits slightly larger than it should, but it still fits well overall. Have not had a chance to put it to use yet as I've noticed the Primus Lux I bought is already pretty comfortable without insoles, plus the main reason I bought them was to use during the coming New England weather.

- Great Minimalist ShoeI was skeptical and took a risk buying the Primus Trio II without trying a pair on first, but I'm very happy with my shoes. I also purchased the thermal insoles which make the fit much better since I have narrow feet. Sometimes I'll also wear them with no-show socks and the fit and feel is great. I highly recommend purchasing a thermal or cork insole if your feet are narrow.

- Great all around soleThis is my second set of these insoles. As always, love the flat profile we've come to love with VBF. Although these are designed for colder months, I didn't find them too warm in the summer. They lasted about 1.5 years of wearing them 2-3 days per week.

- A little extra cushionBought these to have a little extra cushion, not for warmth. They fit my old RA shoes that I use for walking and a little jogging and the gym perfectly. I'm 70 and the little bit of extra padding makes all the difference in walking "barefoot" comfortably. Since these shoes don't seem to wear out I will probably need another set of these insoles someday and will definitely buy again.

- Toasty toesFor the past several years I've lived a minimalist/barefoot lifestyle. I own several Vivo shoes: Stealth II, Primus Lite, Ra II, and Lisbon. As well as other brands. Now that I live in Colorado (moved from Hawaii) and winter has come. I'm so glad I came across these insoles. They are extremely thin and provide great warmth. I don't have to bundle up with socks or wear non-barefoot shoes to shelter from the cold. I'm very happy with the fact that these insole are interchangeable with my most frequently worn shoes. and with the fact that I don't lose ground feel. I highly recommend these to anyone.

- WOW!!I can't say enough great things about these inserts. Well worth the money. I was in disbelief whilst wearing my vivo's outside on a 35 degree day. I was expecting my feet to be cold and clammy. the exact opposite happened, my toes were warm for over an hour and I just couldn't believe how wonderful that feeling was, good job.
