Lightweight and comfortable
I haven't tested these out yet but I plan to wear them to hike Mt. Beacon in Beacon, NY. They're stylish, lightweight, and comfortable. The only thing I don't particularly like is that the tongue is attached to the sides of the shoe.
I have narrower feet and ankles and these shoes were a tad too wide when I tried them on. I could see how these could work great for anyone with a normal or wider foot. I actually love the Tracker FG trail shoes and got those instead.
Love, love, love my new Hiker FG! I have been needing a barefoot hiker and this fits the bill perfectly, I was a little unsure at first because I have a bunion on one foot, and where the shoe bends at the junction of the toes and foot, the material was a bit stiff and dug in. I tweaked the lacing and put my own memory foam insoles in for the break-in period. Well, I just wore them several days straight while being the trail manager of a horse competitive trail ride. It requires marking trails on foot (and on horseback - I use my new Gobi Hi Tops for riding - love them!) and standing around a lot during the event. The Hiker FG was perfect. I love the ground feel and traction . They have broken in nicely and I no longer fell any discomfort in the toe break area. Highly recommend them!
