Ababa leather

I love these shoes, they are super comfy and make me feel like I’m really not wearing shoes. Not super in love with the style, kind of makes me look like I have duck feet but they are pretty awesome regardless.

Finally a shoe that fits my foot shape and width without even trying it huggs where it’s supposed to and my toes are free just to be and do what they need to without any pinching or pain. I’m a heel striker so they are teaching me to place my feet more appropriately when walking which also cuts down on the pain I used to feel in my heals and the bottom of my feet. I enjoy feeling surfaces beneath my feet when I walk. I was always a bear foot child well into adulthood. It does take some getting use to when on your feet for long periods of time because alas we’ve been trained to walk in shoes that didn’t allow us to feel our terrain. So slow going. Living in a city where it’s a hustle a minute and the surfaces are very rigid and unforgiving I can’t help but feel that I need a little more padding at the bottom at times and I worry about the leather and rubber connection at the heal and if it’s the stress point where it will all come apart. I wonder why there’s no leather at the heel and if it may become a site of discomfort. Another concern is climate and cooler conditions, so I’ll just have to work out my wool sock thickness and comfort in the shoe. I tend to wear them without any socks because I find that socks add a level of constraint for me in most shoes. But for now feet in training so I carry them with me for those moments when my feet tell me they want to be free. Did I mention they are light weight and foldable so they slip easily into a bag without any extra weight. I was looking for a shoe that was carefree yet stylish and I think I’ve found them. So I’ve ordered another pair.
