Love them
I’m very happy with these Shoes. They fit like an awesome glove. I’m a runner and I run mainly barefoot or in 4mm huaraches. But my If I go somewhere nice it’s a little out of place. These feel great look stellar And go well with clothes that aren’t running shorts ????

Nice look but too small
This shoe looks great and has real nice ground feel. But it was recommended that I buy an 11 U.S. size (I usually wear a 44 European size) but it was way too tight, even with very thin socks. I will return for a larger size, however.

Love these
Love these. I have very wide feet. It took me a bit to find the correct size in these. I wear a Birkenstock 38 and ended up w a 40 in these. Men’s 7. I work 13 hour shifts and have been happy with these so far. It’s only been a few weeks so I’m hoping they hold up. Company has been great to work with.

Not bad
Ok the shoes are pretty good. Super thin, nice and wide, good tread.

However—

The sizing is listed strangely on the website. I’m a perfect 45/ 11us and they recommended I order a size 12. Turned out to be a perfect fit, but the box says 45. So why list it as size 12? Idk it confused me but turned out to be totally fine so shrug

And—

They slip like heck on commercial kitchen floors. Good thing I got a new job because they’re not exactly non-slip. The tread is super grippy on dry surfaces and dirt though

Also—

The insole (which is leather) immediately started peeling back from the toes on the right side, which feels uneasy, like will it get worse? Am I actively peeling it back with every step? We’ll see. But my toes touch it and it affects my gait a little bit cuz I don’t want to make it worse.

And finally—

The color is really dark kinda square shade of brown, but maybe they’ll improve with age.

Overall I like them because I wanted barefoot slipons cuz all I had were barefoot boots, and they’re more reasonable than “the toe shoes” but the quality and taste is questionable. You know like they feel and look “expensive” but in a kinda bourgeois sort of way. Will probably buy another pair of L E M S or some huaraches next time. Idk maybe it’s because it’s an English company and they have different style and priorities haha

A little big
Super comfy, love how they feel, their flexibility, and appearance. The men's 7 wound up being a bit too big, so I switched to a women's 8. Customer services was helpful in determining that this was the right step for me. Was concerned the women's shoe would be more feminine or somehow different, but was nice to know that they are essentially the same, the women's is just a bit more narrow and has a snugger fit.

Amazingly comfortable
This is the most comfortable shoe I've purchased from Vivo. If you have a wide foot, this will fit like a glove. The leather allows for the shoe to be worn at nicer occasions as well. Highly recommend it!

Very stylish, but weird fit
Really good looking shoe. The leather is so soft! They did not rub anywhere from the moment I put them on. The rubber tab up the back gives them a bit more structure and makes them go on much easier than some of the other slip on styles. The major drawback is that the fit on these is totally different than all the other Vivos I have in a 43. They are much wider and significantly shorter. I typically have 1/2" to 1" at the ends of the shoe and these in the same size we're almost an inch too short. I ended up wearing them because I am too lazy to do a return, and the soft hide is stretching out a bit. Very good-looking shoe, but be prepared to try multiple sizes.

my new favorite shoes!
Wow. I was not sure how these would feel on my feet, and if I would like the look. But, they are SO COMFORTABLE! The leather footbed is great, and molds to your feet as you wear it. The leather is very soft, and very high quality. I love the look as they work with shorts, jeans, and I even wore them to a wedding with chinos. My only concern is they aren't the puncture resistant sole of most Vivos, but that's OK. They are great!

Better than I hoped
Bought these as house shoes / slippers. They are fantastic. I've had a dozen different Vivo shoes over the last eight years or so. Taking a break from them due to some plantar fascitis. I need just a bit more cushion when I go outside.

But for inside,..wow, I forgot how comfortable Vivos are. Nice and wide, and much better for walking around the house than any slippers. I find them more comfortable with socks, but without is great , too.

Most comfortable shoes ever
I bought these for my husband and he says, "At long last I found a nearly perfect shoe! I've been wearing these almost every day for about a year and a half. Lightweight, easy to pack, comfortable for long walks, can slip them on and off, plenty of room for my toes to spread out. And the leather accepts grease well, which helps me keep them supple and waterproof. They work in professional settings too. Would definitely buy again and recommend. "

NEEDS to be known- insert or no insert
The construction of the shoe is absolutely fantastic and beautiful looking. I do think there needs to be information or made hugely known that if you get the insert, the shoes are probably going to be a size up than without. Without the insert, the barefoot experience for me was a bit too much barefoot.

Comfortable and well made.
This is my 3rd pair of Ababa shoes. The Navy version is a bit narrower than the Black version I have or the white canvas. They are very comfortable, light and attractive.

These are amazing shoes
They are so wide in the toe area, comfy, and stylish. The pictures here don’t do it justice. I ordered a size up just to make sure they had room in the toes and they are really roomy. If you’ve gotten other shoes and you needed more toe room I’d size up. They look really nice and I wear them to work

New Favorite Shoes
I was pleasantly surprised with these shoes. Reviews have claimed that they're a bit wide, but they fit my thinner feet perfectly. They are very comfortable shoes, and have become new my everyday shoes. Easy to slip on and off and the look real cool.

Excellent shoe
I am extremely happy about these shoes so far. I have been wearing RA II's for work for years and have always wanted a slip on that maintained the same level of professionalism that I had before. They are extremely comfortable and feel more like barefoot than the RA II.

Converted to Barefooter Shoes
After learning now to walk properly, I converted from standard shoes to these shoes. My feet feel so free and I can actually feel things beneath my feet as I walk. No arch supports are needed when you know how to walk the right way. My toes can spread out and they love the extra room. The shoes are very well constructed. I have a second pair that I use for roaming around in the woods and the leather cover provides great protection from briers and sticks. Actually, I'm on my 3rd pair. Love these shoes!

Perfect.
These shoes feel so good and flexible. This shoe really does make me feel barefoot. Another thing that is a bonus: the sole on the heel. Such a great thing on the shoe. I can sit on the ground with my feet out and not worry about damaging the leather or hurting my heels. They also pass for shoes at work- at least the black ones.

Fits like a glove, but for women
Full disclosure, I am a female who purchased the men's version because I love Vivobarefoot and their women's shoes are too narrow for me.

These fit me like a glove, the leather is soft, the rubber heel part doesn't irritate at all, and there are no inner seams that could cause discomfort. The sole is thin and flexible.

So far no downsides, though I can't imagine that these would comfortably fit anyone with wider feet than I. They seem like they'd be really narrow if a man wore them.

Vivo for life!
I have fallen deeply in love with vivo shoes. I've had issues with tendonitis for almost a decade now and between working with some amazing doctors and wearing vivo shoes, my feet have started to gain back their mobility. With time, we may heal the tendonitis altogether!

My one small complaint is that the ababa's particular design can be a little restrictive on the tops of your feet if you are large footed. If you find yourself in that boat, I recommend one of the laced varieties.

Great shoe
I love this shoe. They are so comfortable. Almost like wearing a slipper with a better sole. I have a hard time wearing them with jeans as they tend to drag. They have to be worn with shorts which is fine with me. Also, I have big and wide feet which made sizing a concern. I'm happy to say the size recommended works fine if a bit snug. I can't wear it with socks but I never planned to wear socks in the first place. The quality of the shoe is very impressive to me. I love the soft leather upper that makes it feels premium.

Comfy, but not stylish
These shoes are incredibly comfortable. But I ultimately returned them because of the style. The seam running along the top is very noticeable. If it weren't for the seam, I would definitely be interested in these shoes.

Feels like thick socks
These are my first pair of barefoot shoes and I can feel everything, in a good way, the cracks in the sidewalk, the soft grass, and other textures I've not felt from the bottom of my feet. The shoes are very soft and almost feels like I'm walking around town in a pair of thick socks.

The only issue I have is that I'm not able to kick them off like I have with other shoes. But that's not really a major issue.

Very Nice
Leather is very soft and comfortable. Very thin sole, so know that in advance- thinner than Primus lite and Fulham. Only issue I have, and very little one at that, is the seam down the middle of the shoe can be felt when worn without socks. I assume this will soften with wear but can be irritating at times.

Minimalist, super comfy, barefoot with protection for you soles
Tha Ababa’s were a surprise when I took them out of the box. I ordered them based on their looks and my experience with 4 other pairs of Vivobarefoot’s.

I was not sure how I would like them and how comfortable they would be. Twenty minutes later I wore them outside - all doubts erased. They are definitely new favorites allowing barefoot experience while protecting my feet. Extremely comfortable.

I recently received my Ababa Leather shoes. They are comfortable, good looking and very comfortable. It appears they will last a long time. I have looked for a shoe like this since I could not wear Clark Trex because they were too narrow. Such a casual cool look with anyting I wear.

Nice looking shoe
I first ordered these at my usual vivo size but the cut of the shoe at the toes does not leave a lot of vertical space. At my usual size my toes were cramped . Ordering a size up solved the problem. Great to have a good looking barefoot shoe that is slip-on.

The leather is very soft. Very minimal. More like a slipper. Wish they came in 1/2 sizes as the left foot is a little tight across the ball of my foot. Fit snugly on my ankle.

I really like the look of the shoe and the flexibility. I am a size 11 US and my toe was grazing the inside tip of the shoe so I had to return them. Also the Africa Outline was not red as pictured, it was the same color as the sole.

Lets be honest here...If your just getting into wearing barefoot shoes there is going to be a steep learning curve lol...
I wasn't happy for over a week with my purchase...my feet hurt, and they shoes weren't broke in...But i was committed, and i kept wearing them everyday, everywhere. Which im very glad i did...:D

I love Vivo shoes, they are high quality, comfortable, and stylish.

After my feet adjusted to basically being bare foot with wearing these shoes....i couldn't love them more...So comfortable...<3 and they really feel snug on the foot, which is important with a design like this ababa.

The sizing is a bit awkward in my experience. I wear a size 10 normally in american shoes, and had to buy a size 8 for complete comfort in these shoes. previously i bought a size 9 on the FG trackers which were to big, so i went with a size 8 on these shoes and LOVE IT!! super stoked, and going to buy another pair of these, and another outdoor shoe later on down the road...:D

Vivo is my favorite barefoot shoe company. They are a MUCH better quality and design then the other shoes i have looked at. The customer care is always quick, nice, and helpful..:) what more can I say.

Ababa leather
I bought a pair of these for my husband after a couple of months of having a pair of my own and gaining a healthy obsession with their incredible comfort. I told him “I have just purchased heaven for your feet”. My husband absolutely loves him and hasn’t worn them everyday since they arrived. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet and I intend to buy them in additional colors. I cannot convey how much I love them!

Whoa...
I had been anticipating getting a pair of Ababas for a while, because I loved the look, and I imagined that they would be incredibly comfortable. Holy cow, my wildest dreams did not prepare me for how much I love these shoes! These are my 5th pair of Vivos, and they just might be my favorite. The leather is supple, they slip on and off quite easily, although not too easily so that you can't keep them on your feet, and, as always, the barefoot sole, gives you the ultimate in grounded feel and comfort. I love these shoes and I love this brand. Do yourself a favor and snag a pair, they're worth, your feet are worth it, and you won't be sorry!

Another Great Shoe!
The Ababa is my fourth shoe from Vivo and I love it. I've only worn it a few times, but it is by far the most comfortable pair of Vivos yet. I love the sole and the design, but I really have to consider it a summer shoe, mainly because I don't think it looks great with socks, which I typically wear in the winter. It's a beautiful shoe, however and very well made. The leather, rubber and stitching are all top notch. Vivo just keeps getting better. So glad I found you guys. It's all I wear now and I'm about to buy my dad his first pair.

Very Happy with this purchase
I bought these shoes for my husband who experiences pain in both feet from diabetes. No shoes are comfortable for him and I was hoping that these would be different. He is thrilled with them, they are very comfortable. And do not aggravate the pain. He feels much less pain wearing these shoes. He puts them on as soon as he gets home and wears them all weekend. One of my Favorites so far!
I have so far bot 6 pairs. This is one of my favorites, easy to slip on and off. The only downside to them is you must wear them with regular socks, (no half low profile ,, low visibitly socks) the reason is the rubber pull up stip in the back, will catch that type of sock, and slowly run it dow from your heel.

Other than that, love the shoe, it does feel a bit different when you walk, than the others, don't know if the sole having a different pattern has anything to do with it. Buts is a refreshing, light with shoe!

It should have been explained clearly that this is barely a shoe- the most minimal shoe imaginable, more a slipper than a shoe. The sole is thin as a wafer with no support or cushioning at all. Definitely a shoe for soft or smooth ground and definitely a summer shoe because your feel will freeze on cold surfaces That being said I do like them. They are a lot like being barefoot and I can't wait until summer to wear them.

I love my Ababas! They are much more comfortable than I expected! They also look even nicer in person, I was worried they would look very wide on my foot because of the pictures, but they don’t. The leather is very supple and feels great with socks. I’ve received multiple compliments on them! Would recommend them to anyone!

Better than you think, as good as they say
I really like the Ababa in leather. I ordered my normal Vivo size 43 - US 10. My third and fourth toes touched the end of the shoe, even though my big toe had plenty of room. I ordered another pair, one size up, just to be sure. Way too big. Returned those and have been wearing the 43s since. In just a day or so the shoes have softened even more and are very comfortable. They also look better than the photos let on. I'll leave these at work to change into from my boots this winter. Probably get another pair pretty soon here.

Great shoe but had to return
I purchased the Ababa Leather as a gift. I was impressed with its craftsmanship, quality, weight, and flexibility. Unfortunately, one of the shoes arrived with a slit in the rubber sole, most likely caused during packing or shipping. This is the first time I've had trouble with a Vivobarefoot product, and I believe it to be an isolated incident. I would order this product again.

Comfortable and neat design
These seem to be really comfortable and casual. And I like the design of them. However I got them in a size too big so they're being returned. I'm also not sure if a smaller size would fit my narrow heel. If you have combination feet - meaning wide toe box and a narrow heel, I don't think these are the right shoe.

Comfy
I love to try to wear zero drop footwear. I run with NB Minimus. I mostly wear Birkenstocks for work. So I wanted a casual shoe to get around. These are perfect!! Unbelievably comfortable, feel more barefoot than either of my other footwear. I plan to wear tget to work alternating with the Birks!

Stopped Foot and Back Pain
Love your shoes!!! Spent thousands on orthotics, doctors, special shoes and always had foot and back pain. Then my chiropractors secretary had a pair of Vivobarefoot shoes on and I asked about them. Ordered a pair and am still wearing them after almost 3 years. Ordered a pair for my husband and he loved them. So when I saw the ones I currently bought got them. Only thing I would change is to have some kind of finishing along the top of the shoe that meets the foot. That is a little rough. Otherwise Awesome!

Best. Shoes. Ever?
Coming to these from Softstar shoes. These just may be the best shoes I've ever worn. I scoured the internet for a decent pair of wide toe slip ons that I could wear casually and to work. I finally found these and I am pleased.

They are snug and fit like a glove, true to size. I am a size 9 everything, and these fit perfect i n size 9. They have a barefoot feel and great arch support, thanks to the design and construction of the sole.

Size up 1 size if you plan to use this with an insole, which I recommend if you plan to use these for heavy walking and hard surfaces. I'd recommend to the maker that they consider offering this in additional sole thicknesses so buyers can choose what is best for their type of walking. Just an idea.

Thanks Vivo for these shoes! Well worth the price!

Order in limbo?
Let me start by saying I love vivobarefoot shoes. I ordered the leather ababas recently and they are insanely comfortable. The only thing is, i noticed the top panels were dyed different colors, so i initiated a return, hoping to exchange them. In the mean time they had sold out of my size, and i haven’t heard anything back regarding my return. It has been over a week and it’s difficult to communicate with customer service given the time difference.

Going barefoot at work
I love these shoes. They are the best foot-shaped, zero-drop shoes I've ever worn. I have owned a pair of Vivo Ra II for a couple of years, and these Ababas are even better. With no laces, there isn't any restriction the top of my arch, but they fit snugly enough that they work for long, brisk walks to work. They look great, too. They're just unique enough to stand out a bit without being awkward in a very khakis/Oxfords environment. The craftsmanship is top-notch. They're without a doubt the most "me" shoes I've every worn. (besides my flip-flops, which aren't allowed at work.)

They look even better in person. The tread pattern is unique and the wide toe box makes them so comfortable.

I'd error on size up as they seem a bit too snug in the recommended size.

Surprisingly comfortable
Was really excited to receive these as they would have been my first pair of barefoot shoes. When I did receive them, I was initially put off by how wide they were up front but quickly realized that I preferred the roominess. They really grew on me after a few days and now I believe they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I want to wear them all the time!

I personally didn't like the appearance of the shoe enough to keep them, they looked to me to be a black leather clog and wouldn't want to wear them at work.

Just like the ra shoes I've purchased I enjoyed how good the ground feel is and there being no need to potentially break them in, unfortunately I couldn't get over the appearance, which I understand is difficult to improve with leaving enough room in the toe box to not restrict toe splay .

Ultra minimal
Very soft an flexible although the heel tab does rub a bit. Made a sizing mistake, should have stuck with 45 like all my other (12 pair) of vivos, 44 was recommended size but too small, no room for any socks.

Vivobarefoot ababa
My husband and I love hear shoes! They are the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I have 4 pairs and he has 2, so far! I have recommended them to many friends and family. I can walk miles sand for 12-14 hours and not have my feet hurt. That’s saying something. I wear a men’s 40 and he wears the men’s 45.

Great! Took a little getting used to
I ordered a 10 and 11, since I was planning on wearing these barefoot. 10 way too small, 11 which I normally wear in vivos felt wide on the sides but toes seemed slightly too close to end of shoe. If I wear these with socks I’d probably need a 12 but I guess bc there’s laces on my other vivo shoes and I got a narrow foot, I’m able to tighten them up. So these were tough for me to size but after wearing them for about a week I’m glad I kept them and gave them a chance bc they’ve become maybe my favorite pair! Close behind my gobis I think!

Best minimalist shoe
I love my Ababas. I get lots of compliments on their looks. They are light, omfortable and have plenty of room for my toes. Just enough structure from the uppers, to keep the sole on and protect my feet, and that's everything I need from a shoe.

Araba Leather Mens
When the first pair I ordered arrived, they were obviously too small. I returned them and ordered another pair and although these were a size larger, they were hard to put on and take off. Eventually, however, the sole where it turns upward to form the heel began tearing through the rubber because the last stitch joining leather to the rubber was placed too close to the edge of the rubber, Now it has torn through all the way to the hole in the upper part of the heel, above the red "Africa" shape. I'm going to try to fix this tear, but I don't hold out much hope. I need another pair, one size larger.

Super Comfortable
Bought this shoe for my husband. He wears a 12.5 and it fits well. It didn't take any time to adapt to the barefoot shoe, but he walks barefoot often. He has high arches and sometimes shoes don't fit him well because of arch placement. This is definitely not an issue with these shoes. He says that this is the most comfortable shoe he has ever worn.

What a shoe should be...
The Ababa is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my foot. I have to force myself to wear my other shoes so I don't wear them out. It feels like I am not wearing a shoe, but provides enough protection in the sole to insulate from the ground during normal daily activity.

New and comfortable
I'm surprised that they are so comfortable even though they're brand new. They are true to size, super sturdy even though they are light and simple, and they look great. This is my entry-level pair; if these ever wear out, I'll upgrade to something with shoestrings. I love them already.

The toe box is just amazing lets you toes spread and be in there natural form instead of cramping them like all other shoes
the sole is minimalistic yet protective

I needed a new pair of shoes that could be slipped on to replace a pair of Merrill barefoots from four years ago that I wore out. These are absolutely perfect! My feet are happy, so I am happy. I just hope they last as long as the Merrills lasted, as I am a bit hard on shoes.

Comfy AF, fast & tidy
People don't often compliment me on my shoes, but when they do, it's these. Not bad for outrageously comfy slip-ons.

If I could have only one pair of shoes, this would be it. I'm on my 2nd pair (plus one canvas and one in brown leather. The black leather is the best version, IMO)

Doesn't take long to break in, and then lasts about a year as an everyday shoe with a good bit of walking.

Works with shorts or long pants, with or without socks.

gorgeous simple awesome shoe
These are what I imagine a shoe should be like when I think about a barefoot shoe. Simple clean lines, great fit, awesome looks, and a solid connection between my feet and the ground. I had to order 12.5 when I ordered; normally when I order shoes I order a 13. I have a wide foot with a high arch and the 12.5s fit me perfectly, better than a glove.

Very comfy!
These shoes are probably the most comfortable Vivo's I've ever owned. The leather footbed works well either wearing socks or just going barefoot in the shoe. Great for everyday use, grips well in all weather conditions. Since these are hand made each shoe could possibly have a different fit around the ankle; for example, my left shoe is a little looser than my right shoe but still fits.

Beautiful and comfortable shoe!
These are beautiful shoes that are comfortable and lightweight. The only issue is that they run slightly narrower than my other Vivobarefoot shoes which usually fit perfectly out of the box. Just a couple days of wearing these stretched them into the right size. They are so nice that I ordered the brown version to complement the black ones I now have. Highly recommended!

Very well designed.
The shoes are fantastic. Very astute attention to detail. However, there is one issue that I have experienced. The rubber portion that extends up your Achilles Tendon is prone to rubbing the back of your ankle. While this does help the shoe mold to your foot, it can also cause blisters. I may attempt to modify the shoe to correct this, but I am not griping a whole lot because I have not developed a full on blister, and I am building up my calluses. I am thinking just gluing some moleskin to that section will fix the issue, but time will tell. One important note, I have absolutely no complaints when I wear socks that extend beyond the rubber extension. The shoe molds to my foot quite nicely and; thanks to the tread design; I think that I could even play sports in them, but I am not ready to do that just yet since they are still new.
Overall, I am very pleased with the product, but I think that the aforementioned heel issue, and also the issue that these shoes are apparently not re-craftable (according to VIVO) bring this rating to a 4/5. Leather lasts as long as it is maintained well and the sole, as durable as it may be, will give way before the leather on my shoe does. Despite all these factors, I think that the shoe can be re-crafted, but I will not find out until probably 3 years from now.
