Perfect for the country lanes in the rain

These are great for the wet, muddy, often puddle-covered paths/country roads/trails that I run in Bristol and Somerset. I think they're fit for purpose and I do recommend them... BUT, for some reason, Vivo has decided on a slight change in shape, which makes them narrow in the middle and I, for the first time ever, have found myself with blisters under my arch (has now happened with the new Primus Trail SG too). It's disappointing as I've worn Vivos for a couple of years now (own at least 10 pairs) and these (plus the very similar Primus Trail SG) are the first to give me blisters. I am persevering as I don't want to change brands but it's quite disappointing. A wonderful trail shoe save for slight change in shape/fit. I've compared with my old ones and the difference is quite plain to see - perhaps it's to try and make them more "mainstream" looking.

Great product, but problems with the website

About the Customer Experience
My foot is 26.1 cm long. I normally wear a size 10US. The Vivobarefoot size recommendation webpage recommends that I order size 8UK. I ordered the Size 8. The shoe that was delivered was too small. The packing list showed size 40. A size 40 according to the website size chart is a size 7. Customer service tells me I ordered a size 7. I find that hard to believe, but cannot verify the details of my order because the link on the order history page does not work. I returned the shoes. I live in Canada, and had to pay custom duties for the shoes. Then, I had to pay return shipping. So all in all I am out of pocket $80CA and own nothing. Yes, I will request a refund for the customs fees, but it is additional work.

I am left feeling frustrated and am reluctant to purchase anything else from the site.

About the shoes
The shoes were well made and I liked the look. The blue is brigher than I expected, but nice.

My foot measures 26.1 cm from heel to my longest toe. I have a morton's toe (2nd toe is longer than my big toe). In the size 40 (7UK), my toes just touched the toe box. The toe box is wider than normal shoes, even in a size too small, my toes had a good spread from side to side. The shoes are wonderfully flexible. I could feel objects under foot, but the sole protected the foot so well that stepping on a rock didn't cause pain.

Recommend to a friend?
It is so hard to say. Yes, the shoes are well made and good looking. I find them expensive at almost $190 plus the customs fees of $40. I really didn't like the fact that I was sent the wrong size. I doubt that I ordered the size7. But let's say I did. I always check my orders online, but couldn't do this because the link to the specific order on the order history does not show details. I expected to click the link and see the names of the shoes, quantity ordered, size ordered, price, shipping, and order date. Instead, when I click the link, the page refreshes and remains at the order history page.

So I do not recommend overseas ordering online until Vivo Barefoot fixes their order history link to show details so that you can check on your order. If you do order online, take a screen shot of the order information before you finalize your purchase. If the shoes you receive do not fit, take photos of the shoes and copy of the packing list before you return anything.

Fabulous shoes

I have really wide feet so these seemed like a great idea. I went a size up as it was always my intention to wear socks and I'm a 6.5 anyway (no half sizes). The barefoot thing does take a little getting used to, I used mine for short walks initially and progressed slowly. Now they are so comfortable, its like running in slippers though the high piece of shoe at the back rubs if I wear sport socks rather than full socks so that's something to be aware of.
