"I grew up in the UK with a love of everything outdoors and I developed a passion for skiing, mostly on dry slopes. After graduating from university I started living in the mountains full-time, doing ski seasons and switching hemispheres from Whistler in Canada to Wanaka in New Zealand. I was outdoors and active everyday - coaching, competing and doing photoshoots. At 25 I moved back to Europe to train as a commercial pilot. It was around this time that I started running more seriously. Now I live with my wife in Sweden and fly Boeing 737's for Norwegian Airlines."

WHAT KIND OF JOURNEY HAVE YOUR FEET GONE THROUGH DURING YOUR ‘TRANSITION’ TO NATURAL MOVEMENT?

"In the beginning, I was overwhelmed by how easy and pain free it was to transition to barefoot running. I anticipated problems because of years of cramming my feet into tight ski boots and poorly fitting shoes. But it's never too late, and the first time that I tried barefoot shoes I loved the feeling immediately. Since then I have noticed subtle changes. I've gone up a size as my feet have spread to become more functional. If I wear "normal footwear", my feet start protesting."

WHERE DO YOU CALL HOME?

I feel most at home in the mountains, but live in the forests around Stockholm, Sweden.

WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER NATURAL MOVEMENT AND VIVOBAREFOOT?

I became interested in expressing myself through movement as a freeride skier over 10 yrs ago. My interest in running started around 2008. This developed into natural movement and continues to evolve. I found Vivo last year through Anders Nordström, of Art Of Running Sweden.

WHAT DO YOU RUN IN AT THE MOMENT?

I run in the Primus Trail, FG or SG depending on the conditions. For work and nights out its the Scott, and the Primus for casual and longboarding.

WHEN YOU'RE NOT ON THE TRAIL, WHERE ARE YOU?

Flying 35,000 above ground level or in the mountains somewhere, preferably backcountry.

WHAT IS YOUR TOP TIP FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO TRANSITION TO BAREFOOT?

"Live barefoot at every opportunity. Start by taking off your shoes at home. Then progress to spending time outdoors, either in barefoot shoes or completely unshod. When you feel ready to start running, do your homework on technique and then find a coach to get it dialed in. Take it slow and let your body adapt. This can take time!"
