I THINK I've found what I was looking for...

I was looking for a pair of lightweight, zero drop shoes that I can use for walking in the mountains around Scotland. I've been using Lizard Kross Terra for the last few years, but they've stopped making them, so I needed something to replace them. Well, I think I've found them.

These shoes are certainly lightweight, zero drop and, once I had the right size, are extremely comfortable (I ordered my usual size, but ended up swapping for a pair a size larger because they were too short).

Having not had a chance to test them in wet conditions, I'm not sure how waterproof they are, but I have no reason to doubt they'll keep my feet dry in most conditions.

Well designed product

I've been looking for ages for a replacement for my zero drop walking shoes, all other manufacturers seeming to have inexplicably remove theirs from the market. I tried a pair of Vivobarefoot Trackers, but I really didn't like them, partly because I felt they looked 'cheap'. However, having received my Hikers, they are a different proposition out of the box, being styled much more like other synthetic lightweight walking shoes, but without the clumpy soles and the heel-toe drop.

They're remarkably comfortable and have quickly proved themselves to be as close to waterproof as I'd expect from any boot. The sole could be grippier and I've have preferred a Vibram if I could have got it, but so far they're meeting the challenges I've set (no Munros as yet though).

I ordered my usual size, but had to change them for a size up to have any room in the toe box. As a result, I'm now getting some slight slippage at my heels unless I tie them pretty tight which then compromises my ankle comfort.

The second pair I received had a different lacing system to the first, so there may be a consistency issue in manufacture?

Thought I would change the way I walk as well so this boot seemed like a good choice.

very comfortable out of the box and after a few miles in various conditions I am really pleased.

They seem to be pretty waterproof have tested them no water comes in when submerged in shallow water.

The true test will be Glastonbury.

As with all Vivobarefoot shoes I go for the size up.
