VIVOBAREFOOT X OTILLO : OFFICIAL SWIMRUN PARTNERS

VIVOBAREFOOT X OTILLO : OFFICIAL SWIMRUN PARTNERS

VIVOBAREFOOT are proud to join the original Swimrun family as International Partner of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series.

18 months ago Asher travelled to Uto (the home of Swimrun) to test the new Primus Soft Ground – earning local kudos for island hopping in just his budgie smugglers. Just over a year ago, we first met ÖTILLÖ masterminds, Michael and Mats, in the woodland outside Stockholm and our philosophies further aligned.   At the maiden UK Swimrun event in the Isles of Scilly, we were inducted for real.  Asher, along with Galahad (aka the Big Toe), jumped in on the short course, and initial nerves evaporated into the stunning scenery and this new most natural way to move through some of the most beautiful spots on earth.

3 races later and we were hooked.

"Swimrun is the fastest growing outdoor sport - in France alone there were 5 Swimrun races last year – this year there will be over 60.) We are honoured to be the Official Shoe Partner of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series:  the originators and purists of Swimrun.  A global series of 6 “unique races in unique places” with 10 merit races all leading up to the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship: the Wimbledon of Swimrun, 75km from North to South of the Swedish Archipelogo with 26 island hops.  Often called ‘my favourite event ever’ by people that have done ‘em all.” Galahad Clark

We have worked with some of the top Swimrun athletes and emerging stars in further developing the perfect Swimrun shoe for men and women. Like Swimrun as an activity, Vivobarefoot make the ultimate shoe to connect you with nature, grip the rocks and trails, quickly drain water with incomparably low wet weights and a wider toe box to get your feet paddling and warming up quicker out of the water.

In 2017 there will be intro ‘sprint’ races every weekend of around 15km that are very fun and accessible to all.   In the short form races you get in and out of the water at least 4 times, so you are never running more than 6km and never swimming more than 1km at a time.  Basically, when you’re tired of running you get to jump in the water and have a nice swim to cool down, rest your legs and get ready for the next lovely piece of nature to trot through. We cannot recommend participating enough.
