ECOLOGICAL SURVIVAL COLLECTION
FOREST
From vast coniferous expanses in the subarctic boreal to dense deciduous woodlands in temperate zones, the forest biome blankets 31% of the planet’s land surface. By sequestering carbon dioxide and influencing weather patterns, it plays a vital role in regulating Earth's climate. Forest landscapes are home to a diverse array of plant and animal species, many of which are endemic to specific regional ecosystems.
True forest immersion calls for footwear that excels in moisture management, lets feet move and breathe freely, and provides unparalleled grip and traction for navigating wet, muddy, uneven terrain.

FOREST FIELD NOTES
CLIMATE
- Variable and temperate, with mild temperatures, consistent rainfall, and four clear seasons.
- From wet coastal rainforests to hotter, drier subtropical forests.
TERRAIN
- Lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, and marshes.
- Rugged mountains, rocky outcrops, and rolling hills.
- Uneven ground thanks to roots, rocks, and undergrowth.
FLORA AND FAUNA
- Heavily wooded with conifers or deciduous broadleaves.
- Some shrubs, but a relatively sparse understory.
- Diverse birdlife, small and large mammals , some snakes, few large predators.
CHALLENGES
Forest immersion offers tranquillity and connection, but it’s not always simple. Steep, rocky, tangled terrain can make navigating difficult, even with the right kit. Rain, fog, or storms can arrive by surprise. Poison oak, stinging nettles, or toxic mushrooms demand knowledge of local flora. Some forests are home to bears, cougars, and venomous snakes.

FOREST BIOME
FOREST ESC
The first products in the line, the Tracker Forest ESC and Magna Forest ESC are designed for woodland hikes and expeditions. Though optimised for temperate forests, they are the most versatile pieces of kit in the collection, offering peak performance in subtropical forests, northern boreal forests, grasslands, and many other environments.
In conditions where effective moisture management and quick-drying footwear are preferable to conventional waterproof membranes, both boots are highly water-resistant and breathable.
