THE VIVOBAREFOOT FAMILY ARE GOING ON A SUMMER RETREAT
The Summer Solstice is here, and we could think of no better way to celebrate the longest day of the year and the sun-filled days ahead of us than with a long weekend among friends and family. That is why we are going on our first Vivobarefoot Retreat in Bantham, the spiritual home of Vivobarefoot since 1908, when our founders’ grandfather first came to this beautiful part of the British coastline.
Our guests and local residents will be encouraged to reconnect with nature through a range of unique outdoor energising activities hosted by leading coaches, experts and Vivobarefoot friends.
The highlight of the weekend, the Vivobarefoot Swimrun will be the first to be held on the Bantham shore. Swimrum is the perfect way to reconnect with nature and the ultimate team adventure, a truly unique and growing sport where you must compete as a pair and run and swim multiple times in shoes and a wetsuit. The competitors will enjoy all that the Devon coastline has to offer, in a rare opportunity to view the best of Bantham from both land and sea.
We have gathered together some inspiring people to come to share their story during the weekend:
Ross Edgley - Adventurer and author best known for becoming the first person in history to swim all the way around Great Britain 2,000 miles in 157 days.
Laura Try – Endurance athlete, Atlantic rower, media consultant and blogger. Rowed 1,800 miles around Great Britain in June 2017.
Barefoot sessions with Ben Le Vesconte, Vivobarefoot’s Foot Health, Walking and Running Technique Coach
Swimrun masterclass with Fanny Danckwardt-Lillieström, Team Envol’s Swimrun athlete and two-time runner-up at the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship
Yoga from the Roots Up with Sinta Soekadarova, Yoga and Natural Movement Coach
We’re happy to welcome you to this way of moving through mother nature in the most intimate way. Join us on our journey to connect with ourselves, each other and nature by following the hashtag #vivoretreat on Instagram.
