Size Guide Chart Issues
Beautiful shoe, ordered wrong size based on Vivobarefoot's size guide template. I am a size 11 in 99.9% of all shoes. I practice & teach yoga barefoot & I workout in a barefoot gym. Using the Vivobarefoot online size template measuring guide, it recommended a size 12. This surprised me because as I mentioned earlier I am a true size 11 in 99.9% of all shoes. So, just to be certain I called the customer service department at Vivobarefoot - they advised me to also go with a size 12 as the size guide template recommended. Got the shoes and they are sloppy lose and one size too big. Returned & reordered in size 11. Waiting patiently for size 11 with fingers crossed. The shoes looked and felt awesome ...
This is my second Vivo shoe. I bought the Stealth II for my martial arts practice and was so taken with it that I promptly bought the Ra II for everyday wear at my clinic. I like the Stealth II a lot better. The Ra definitely fits a bit tighter across the top of the foot than the Stealth. After I put in 40 hours or so in the Stealth, I was talking to all my colleagues about the shoe because I was so impressed. The Ra hasn't inspired that kind of enthusiasm, but I am definitely a happy customer. I was a bit disappointed with the insoles. The don't fit perfectly and tend to slide around and bunch up by the end of the day, so I tossed them.
On the whole, it's a nice shoe and it's reasonably priced for what it is. I bought it because I wanted to have the barefoot feel at my clinical practice and this absolutely lets me do that. If you like barefoot shoes and need to look like an adult, this is a winner. 🤙
First barefoot shoe
After many years of periodically struggling with foot, shin or lower-back pain from the variety of modern shoes I owned, I decided to chuck the lot and invest in barefoot-styled shoes. I purchased the RA II for work which, to be honest, is very different from the traditional styled ‘work shoe’. They do take a bit of getting used to. At first I was a bit self-conscious of the look but have come to accept the good they’re doing for my feet/knees/back is far more important. As with all Vivibarefoot shoes, they all give the same walking experience. Switching from the RA II to the Motus for example, feels as if you’re still wearing the same shoes. After 2 weeks of walking only ‘barefoot’, I can already feel a huge difference in myself. I no longer get intermittent pain while walking/running. Instead, the muscles and tendons in my feet and legs are strengthening. I would highly recommend switching to a ‘barefoot’ styled shoe.
