My wife, two year old daughter and I had flown to Fairbanks, Alaska to spend Christmas with my wife's family and I was eager to explore the brave the cold and winter wonderland. Coming from the mountains of Utah the idea of running in the cold was a not a new concept for me, but running in temperatures below zero was a totally different endeavour. It was nearly 10am and daylight was just beginning to brighten the Alaskan day, the ice and snow glittering in the early light. I laughed to my wife commenting that maybe it was ill-advised to run when it was nearly 20 below zero, and then went downstairs to get dressed for my run. Read more
