Become a Trail Freak and run the Jungle Ultra marathon
March 26, 2014 by Jamie Page
Are you a trail freak, looking for your next adventure? Are you ready to run an ultra marathon, take the ultimate challenge and complete a 230km multi-stage adventure race from the Andes to the Amazon? If the answer is yes and you think you’re tough enough to complete this year’s Jungle Ultra, starting on the 16th May, in Peru and fly the flag for Vivobarefoot then apply now.
Join the Flying V
We are looking for our newest team member, to join the Flying V and to take part in the upcoming Jungle Ultra. To be shortlisted for selection complete this form and tell us a bit about yourself and why you want to take on the Jungle Ultra. The Jungle Ultra starts on the 16th May, 2014, you'll need to be available from the 16th to the 25th May, 2014.
We will be providing entry to the Beyond the Ultimate Jungle Ultra, starting on the 16th May 2014. We will also provide you with VIVOBAREFOOT Trail Freaks for the race and a choice of lifestyles shoes. You will need to arrange your own transport (flights to Peru) and provide your own race equipment.
Is it possible in Vivos?
As there’s no shock absorption, no motion control, no support in the shoes it is all down to you. But this is only a good thing; it means you are relying on yourself and your own ability and not hiding in your comfort zone or behind the façade of cushioning.
The Trail Freak is the perfect companion in the Jungle for strong, happy feet.
Whilst it was a gruelling race with its literal ups and downs thankfully my feet were something I didn’t have to worry about. After 4 and half intense days in the jungle it wasn’t until the last day that I got my first blister, and it was negligible at that.
