Introducing 365 around the world – a couple travelling the world.
We have all probably listened, more than once, to someone saying ‘I’m gonna travel the world’. However, not many of us know someone who has actually done it.
In fact, it’s something that most of us wish to do (or at least the adventurer in us), but not many dare to make the decision. Actually it’s not an easy decision to take: leave everything you know behind for the unknown, everything you have for such an abstract desire, leave your comfort zone for the vastness of the world! Brave, naive and crazy all at the same time!
In our case the idea came because both of us wanted to explore so many places, thus we asked ourselves ‘why not travel the world?’ I (Magdalena) didn’t think too much more about it until one day John sent me a text saying ‘We start our around the world trip on July 12th, by driving to Mongolia!’
Who are we?
John is English, 27 and loves his work as an Osteopath and strength and conditioning coach. Magdalena is Spanish, 27 and a passionate Teacher. As we write this we are currently both happy living in Suffolk, England even despite the wonderful British weather.
We are both passionate about developing as people and expanding our understanding of the world in which we live, that is why we have decided to fully embrace this development through travelling. We also hope to inspire others to look outside of the ‘box’ and discover something new about themselves.
We are not taking a typical around the world route. The majority of our journey is overland and we start by driving to Mongolia – in our affectionately named car ‘Bernard the Brave’.
Along our journey we have some mini adventures planned including marathons in Mongolia, bagging some of the more remote peaks in SE Asia, and hopefully summiting Aconcagua in the Andes, alongside the day to day challenges of trying to keep fit on the road.
For our journey we needed shoes that are light and versatile. As we are both already advocates of minimalist style footwear this made life easier. However we also wanted the products to be ethically sound i.e. footwear is produced sustainably using recycled, locally sourced materials, with efficient and eco-friendly production techniques. Therefore it came down to one company which was Vivobarefoot. We are delighted to be using their products on the trip. We will be taking the Ultra mens and womens alongside the Aqua lite mens and Neo Trail ladies.
