Here at VIVOBAREFOOT our aim is to make shoes that are good for the individual, community and the planet.

Our barefoot shoes are anatomically designed to give the most sensory feedback to the wearer whilst protecting them from modern environmental hazards such as glass and sharp debris. This is achieved using our patented puncture resistant sole; maximum proprioception and maximum environmental protection. Unlike nearly all other types of footwear, our shoes are designed with your feet in mind. The wide toe box lets your feet move inside our shoes in the same way they move when barefoot.

Sharing barefoot experiences, listening to your ideas and communicating the skill of barefoot running is important to us. Through our Training Clinic, sporting and community events and our extensive work with Lee Saxby we are committed to spreading the skill of barefoot running.

It’s important for everyone that injury free running is the norm not the exception. However, 40 years of conventional running shoe marketing takes some time to unpin.

As Lee Saxby says: “You cannot be healthy on a sick planet.” – VIVOBAREFOOT footwear is produced sustainably using recycled, locally sourced materials, with efficient and eco-friendly production techniques, in independently monitored ethical factories. We always strive to perfect our design and find solutions to create the ultimate barefoot shoe.

We believe together we can make shoes that are good for all of us, our communities and our planet. However, in order to achieve our aim we need you.

    Hello

I really appreciate the philosophy of your brand: making sustainable, ethical, durable and beneficial shoes.
Judging by the seriousness that vivobarefoot demonstrates in the quality of their products, I guess you are also serious in this. But still, since more details and emphasis are given to the environmental issues, I would like to know more about your social responsibility policies: especially, who watch for this ethical warranty at the factories and what are the standards you want to fulfill in terms of ethical work conditions.

This issues, I belive, are important for a growing number of people, enough to influence in their buying decisions; and a company like terra plana, that tries to call the public attention towards responsible consuming, could well talk also about this issue of social responsability.

Since the clothes and sport articles market are one of the most precarious for workers so many times, it would be valuable to show credible conduct rules or standards that you aim for, and how they are implemented, in order to prevent abuse unfortunately common in this market. Personally I had been looking an ethical alternative for shoes and terraplana is almost unique in at least referring to a control of ethical work conditions, so I guess this could be an added value to your products as is the environmental respect.

    Regards
