Fashioned with a removable and fully adjustable nylon strap, the Achilles is ideal for trail, beachside runs or urban exploration. The multi-terrain, 3mm outsole provides maximum proprioception and protection for whichever amphibious activity you choose to attack. Running downhill poses no issue in this 100% Vegan sandal as the split toe guard design offers comfort, control and protection. With the dual density construction, combining a high performance TPU cage and a softer eco PU foot bed, this modern-day Huarache running sandal allows for swift, skillful movement.

    I love these, it is the first time I have been glad to be a female with size 9 feet, as the Achilles has not been available in women's sizes so far. My shoe-designer friend also adores them, but her feet are too small.

    These are my footwear of choice, I've worn them through much of this year's mild winter. They are the best footwear for me to run and walk in, if not actually barefoot. Easy to carry, so light. I also work in them - my job as a Podiatrist certainly allows for me to chose my own shoes - haha! Prior to these sandals, VFFs were my usual shoes, but the Achilles are cheaper, lighter and more minimalist, and very hard wearing. I cannot tell you how much better I feel for going minimalist/barefoot.

    So why only 4 stars?
    That toe separator is not quite right.. Maybe it needs to be slightly softer, maybe it could be re-designed..? It leaves a soft lump where it rubs in the skin of my second toe. This vanishes vanishes after a few days.

    If you designer guys are reading this, please think about the divider! Cheers, and thanks for an otherwise brilliant shoe

    I have a very healthy respect for the VIVOBAREFOOT team. They are producing ground-breaking minimalist footwear. The Achilles is the definition of a minimalist shoe. It feels like a second skin. It is comfortable, has great ground feedback, is ultra light and ultra minimal, is secure, and is versatile. For hot weather, it provides great ventilation. This unusual shoe comes out on top! Well done VIVOBAREFOOT!

    Funny enough me and my husband wear the same size in shoes. So having the Achilles available for only men is unfair! I love love love these new sandals and I try to get to them first before having my husband put them on. We were unsure at first as it was very uncomfortable but now ordering additional colors. Great new running sandal!
