We took elements from both the Neo Trail and Breatho Trail as well as our Off Road shoes and created this waterproof, lightweight and breathable synthetic barefoot hiker. As with all our hiking and trail shoes it feature the VIVOBAREFOOT Off Road sole which offers maximum proprioception with protection. As well as the infamous anatomic toe box to maximise toe spread, allowing the foot to flex naturally.
“Over a seven mile hike through dense, off-track woodland, through boggy ground, up steep banks and through wet fields, the shoes were very comfortable.” Ste remarked.
The Synth Hiker adds to our growing outdoor / hiking collection and joins our Off Road shoes that we first released in 2011. The Off Road (in a Hi and Mid) was our first specific barefoot hiking shoe and after a successful year we are continuing to offer this rugged leather boot as it goes from strength-to-strength.
Did we mention the Synth Hiker is waterproof? Well it is! We challenged one of our reviewers, Karl Cushway, to test this for us and perform a waterproof test.
Initially he poured water on his Synth Hikers for a minute. He was left dry with no water getting through. He then took it a step further and completely submerged the Synth Hiker…the result?
A completely dry sock.
The Synth Hiker is available for men on now vivobarefoot.com/uk and /eu and will be available for men and ladies on vivobarefoot.com/us /uk and /eu in early Spring 2013.
