Founders of NYC Barefoot Runners, John and Maggie Durant, have turned their fun run and cabaret of barefoot running education into an annual event – doubling in size from the 1st Annual NYC Barefoot Run. Their ultimate goal was to bring together all of the “who’s who” in barefoot running and create a celebratory atmosphere full of education; with all ideas welcomed to allow participants to test each theory for themselves. You can now sign up for our week-long intensive Training Clinic Coaching Program to become a barefoot running coach.

It is a well-known fact that 80% of runners are injured every year. This coaching program aims to spread injury-free running by diagnosing and correcting running form.

There are only a couple of spaces left in October’s course (based in London) so register now before it’s too late.

Led  by leading biomechanics expert, Lee Saxby, the Training Clinic Coaching Program will train you how to teach the skill of barefoot running,  expand your knowledge of evolutionary biomechanics, fully explain the importance of proprioception and give you the opportunity to become a VIVOBAREFOOT Certified Coach.

All certificates are signed by Daniel Lieberman – Professor of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University.

Calling all barefoot / VIVOBAREFOOT runners – if you are heading to the Eden Project Marathon in Cornwall please come an say hello – we look forward to seeing you there.

The Cornish countryside is getting ready for the 3rd annual Eden Project Marathon, and VIVOBAREFOOT will be there to show our support. On Saturday 9th October some of our VIVOBAREFOOT Team, along with thousands of others, with be tackling the stunning yet challenging course, deep in the heart of Cornwall. The dramatic hills, Eden’s Biomes and views of both Cornwall’s coastlines sound a bit daunting but exciting all the same. The course is perfect for the Neo Trail off road sole and the multi-terrain Evo I & II and Neo.

The race weekend is not just for runners with free access to the world-famous Eden Biomes and outdoor gardens, it’s for family and friends of runners too. With a festival atmosphere: 2010 featured music from local bands and a runners’ village on site. This year there will also be a Fun Run and Pasta Party on the day before (Saturday 8 October). There’s even competition for kids to design a logo for the Fun Run – they can win a Divine chocolate hamper.

Eden have informed us that there will be prizes for everyone: including a themed medal, t-shirt, pasty and goodie bag for all finishers, as well as cash prizes for race winners and a bottle of wine for category winners.
