Why VIVOBAREFOOT
Here’s a brief history of VIVOBAREFOOT Technology and how it all began... *
-
1999
Tim Brennan, a keen tennis player and childhood friend, suffered a string of injuries and realized that conventional sneakers were the problem.
-
2003
In 2003 Tim visited me with the first barefoot shoe prototype, made in his studio at the Royal College of Arts. I instinctively loved it and we set about developing VIVOBAREFOOT.
-
2008
By 2008 we had figured out how to make great shoes and momentum has been building ever since. Fans from around the world write in to say they will never wear normal shoes again.
-
2009
In 2009 the barefoot movement got a bible in Chris McDougal ‘Born to Run’ and in 2010 professor Dr Daniel Lieberman, the Harvard based barefoot professor released his seminal research on the benefits of barefoot running in Nature magazine.
-
2010 and beyond...
At VIVOBAREFOOT we are proud to be leading the revolution and in 2010 we’re excited to be launching VIVOBAREFOOT for kids, a cool canvas vulcanized range and the ‘Evo’, our fastest barefoot shoe yet.
