Minimalist Running Shoes takes on the Breatho trail

March 9th 2012 by Jamie Page

Nick from Minimalist Running Shoes recently took the Breatho Trail through it’s paces. Here’s how it fared.

Last September Minimalist Running Shoes reviewed the Neo Trail, our first off road, barefoot trail shoe. This latest review of the Breatho Trail makes some good comparisons between the two. Here at VIVOBAREFOOT we’re always seeking the best barefoot shoes for the terrain. Although we believe barefoot is best, we actually think VIVOBAREFOOT is better as we have the correct tools for the job in hand – learn more about our barefoot soles on vivobarefoot.com (both the Neo Trail and the Breatho Trail use our Off Road barefoot sole).

Lighter and more breathable

“…they shed off at least an ounce (would have preferred a few more ounces but it’s a start) and made the uppers much more breathable (open mesh versus closed hydrophobic mesh)  - no more sweaty feet. It is becoming one of my go-to trail shoes!”

Protection…

“You don’t have to worry about stubbing your toes as the TPU toe guard has your feet protected, preventing scuffs for additional durability.”

…And Proprioception

“VIVOBAREFOOT understands there is a constant tradeoff between proprioception and protection while continuing to innovate and expand the barefoot performance range.”

Super-wide toe box

“The toe box on the Breatho Trail is super-wide, just like the Neo Trail. Even with the insole, my 2E+ feet have extra space for splaying when running – sockless of course”
